Time Off
I'm in the middle of my vacation: ten calendar days of no work. I'm halfway through it and I'm really trying hard not to think about next week. It has been too good. In six weeks, my wife Carol is having our third baby so we have been very busy getting the house ready. Although there isn't a nursery room to set up, we've spent a lot of time getting our small home organized.
Some of these things include: getting a full-year of food storage, re-organizing the laundry room, designing our big bare wall in the living room with lots of frames (with back and forth to the store), building and finishing shelves in the garage, organizing things into bins, hanging more pictures around the house, etc. And I enjoy all of it! I know it's a bit weird but when I get in the zone, I enjoy working hard getting the house and family organized.
But there has been some fun, too. We spent the entire Sunday afternoon doing all sorts of art and crafts (oh that was heaven for Gracia), sledding yesterday, Wii many times, Discovery Gateway museum today, and some Christmas shopping later this week.
Even though we didn't go anywhere, it has been a great time at home and hopefully, I'll be all refreshed when the time is up to go back to work. Hopefully.
